Leadership Team

Jean Andre Celestain brings to Atlantic more than three decades of experience as a senior energy executive in the petrochemical and manufacturing sectors. Jean Andre has operated in various senior leadership roles in Engineering, Operations, HSSE and Project Management.

He was seconded from BP into the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO) in September 2021 and over the past three years has played a significant role in crafting and operationalizing Atlantic’s strategy. As Atlantic’s CEO, in support of our journey to world-class operations, Andre has solidified his track record of delivery, driving improvements in several critical areas such as systematic operations, turnaround strategy and risk and vulnerability management. He has also delivered sustained performance resulting in Atlantic achieving zero serious injuries and fatalities, zero tier 1 and tier 2 process incidents and zero impaired barriers.

Andre has deep operational knowledge and a distinct leadership ethos grounded in humility with a genuine desire to help others succeed. He is committed to building national and Atlantic capability and often speaks of the pride that he feels having observed the career trajectory of junior staff who have since progressed to senior roles since his first Atlantic secondment. His inclusive leadership style promotes the creation of safe spaces where all views are welcomed, and all voices are heard.

Jean Andre holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of the West Indies St. Augustine and has completed the Harvard Advanced Management Programme and the MIT bp Operations Academy Programme. He is also a proud alumnus of Queen’s Royal College (QRC).
