As Point Fortin readies to host its Borough Day celebrations for the first time since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, LNG production company Atlantic has come onboard once again as a key partner.
This year’s celebrations will take place between April 29 to May 8 and will commemorate the Borough’s 42nd anniversary, with the theme “Resilient and Moving Forward”.
Atlantic will sponsor the Diary of Youth Events, including the Primary Schools Monologue Competition and the Secondary Schools Debate Competition. The company will also sponsor the Waves of Melody steelpan concert on May 7 at the Clifton Hill Beach Facilities.
Speaking to Atlantic’s contribution to the celebrations, Marlon Grant, Atlantic’s Team Lead of Sustainability, said, “Borough Day is a significant opportunity for Atlantic to get behind our home community and support efforts for the further development of local entrepreneurs, artists, and our young people.”
Grant added that Atlantic’s support for Point Fortin extends beyond Borough Day celebrations and throughout the pandemic the company has prioritised adapting its corporate social responsibility programmes at the community and national levels as things evolve.
Atlantic has been a patron of Borough Day for over 20 years. Point Fortin organizing officials have advised that events within this year’s Borough Day celebrations will be suitably scaled to align with COVID-19 public health and safety regulations.
